Evelina Alabaster Wall Sconce with Elongated Vertical Shade

The VoriHaus Evelina Alabaster Wall Sconce runs a long rounded panel of alabaster vertically down the wall, held at the middle by a metal bracket that crosses it. Alabaster is the reason to buy it: the stone is faintly translucent and unevenly so, which means the light comes through the panel in a soft gradient with the stone's own cloudiness visible in it, rather than as a flat lit rectangle. Each panel differs a little for that reason.

Two sizes are offered. The small is 13.8 inches tall and weighs 6.2 pounds; the large is 19.7 inches tall and weighs 7.9 pounds. Both are 3.9 inches across and stand 3.1 inches off the wall. Three metal finishes are offered for the bracket and are chosen at checkout alongside the size. The light source is a G4 LED drawing up to 25 watts, and the vertical format suits a pair flanking a mirror or a bed as readily as a single fixture.

The fixture is hardwired, and at up to 7.9 pounds it is heavier than most sconces, so the fixing matters. VoriHaus recommends having a qualified electrician make the connection, fixing into a stud or a rated wall plug rather than plasterboard alone, and confirming the fixture is rated for your household supply before installation. Wipe the alabaster with a dry soft cloth and keep it away from standing water.
