The VoriHaus Galen Globe Table Lamp sets a rounded two-tone shade on a slim polished pedestal. The lower half is a deep tinted glass bowl and the upper half a white diffusing dome, and the two close together into a single globe. Light leaves it in both directions, upward through the dome and downward through the tinted bowl, so the surface under the lamp is lit as well as the wall behind it.

Brightness is set by remote rather than by a switch on the body, which is useful on a bedside table where the alternative is reaching for a lamp in the dark. It draws under 5W at 5V DC. The shade and pedestal are ABS and aluminum, which keeps the lamp light enough to move with one hand while the weighted disc base holds it steady on a smooth surface.

It is offered in two colorways, shown in the swatches above, and the compact footprint suits a nightstand, a desk or a shelf where a larger shade would crowd the surface. VoriHaus recommends standing it on a level surface, keeping the remote somewhere consistent, and switching the lamp off before wiping the shade with a dry soft cloth.
