Matilde Goose Down and Feather Bed Pillows

The VoriHaus Matilde Goose Down and Feather Bed Pillow is filled with a blend of goose down and goose feather inside a cotton shell. Down is the fine cluster from close to the bird's skin and gives loft; feather has a quill and gives structure. Blended, they land at a medium firm support that takes the shape of a head without collapsing under it. The shell is woven cotton, so it breathes rather than trapping warmth the way a coated ticking would.

One size is made, 18 by 30 inches, which is a king length pillow and will sit on any bed width; on a twin or a full it simply runs closer to the full width of the mattress. The pillows are supplied as a set of two. Medium firm is the middle of the range and the reason it suits back, side and front sleepers alike, where a soft pillow really only works for one of the three.

The edges are double stitched, which is what stops the fill migrating out through a seam over years of use. The pillows are machine washable. VoriHaus recommends washing two at a time to balance the drum, using a mild detergent and no fabric softener, and drying low and long until the fill is dry all the way through, since down left damp inside will clump. Plump by hand rather than by beating.
