The VoriHaus Sonja Rattan Bell Wall Sconce runs on batteries, which is the whole point of it. There is no cable to chase into the wall and no electrician to book, so it can go on a plaster wall, a rented wall, or a stretch of hallway that was never wired for a light. The shade is woven rattan in a tapered bell shape, carried on a metal arm off a metal wall plate, and the weave breaks the light into a soft pattern rather than throwing a hard circle.

It measures 6 inches deep by 6 inches wide by 10 inches tall and weighs 1.5 pounds. The light source is a warm white LED drawing up to 10 watts. A magnetic base holds the shade assembly to the wall plate, so the fitting lifts away for charging or battery changes without taking the plate down, and goes back in the same position.

The wall plate fixes with the supplied mounting hardware. VoriHaus recommends fixing into a stud or a rated wall plug rather than plasterboard alone, keeping batteries out of reach of children and pets, and removing the batteries if the sconce will be left unused for a long period. Dust the rattan with a dry soft brush or cloth; do not wet the weave.
