The VoriHaus Handwoven Weighted Knit Blanket is hand knitted in an oversized braided stitch, so the whole blanket is one run of thick plaited rope rather than a flat knitted face. That construction is what carries the weight: the mass is in the yarn itself, not in beads or pellets sewn into pockets, so there is nothing inside to shift or bunch and the blanket drapes evenly wherever it lands. The braid leaves open gaps through the structure, which keeps air moving and stops the weight reading as heat. The fabric is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100.

It is made in two sizes. Medium is 52 by 60 inches, which is a one-person blanket, long enough to cover an adult on a sofa and short enough to leave folded over the arm without trailing. Large is 52 by 80 inches, the same width with twenty more inches of length, which reaches down a bed as a throw at the foot or covers a taller person head to ankle on the couch. The width is the same on both, so the choice is only about length.

The blanket is machine washable. VoriHaus recommends washing it on its own, since a wet chunky knit is heavy and crowds a drum, and drying it flat rather than hanging it, because a knit this open stretches under its own weight while wet. A weighted blanket is for adult use, and should not be used by anyone who cannot lift it off unaided.
